I’ve been playing APEX Legends on Windows 10 and this errors started to appear, (fix at the end).

Setup:

  • Windows 10 Home 64b
  • Asus Gaming ROG G551VW

Apex configuration:

  • Display Mode: Borderless Window
  • V-Sync:  Adaptive (1/2 rate)
  • Texture streaming budget:  3GB VRAM
  • Texture Filtering:  trilineal
  • Ambient Occlusion: Medium
  • Everything else: Low / Disabled

Recommended settings are posted here, I’m using a personalized setup.

0x887A0005 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED The video card has been
physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has
ocurred. The applciation should destroy and recreate the device. For help
debugging the problem, call ID3D10Device;;;GetDeviceRemovedReason.

Fix that helped me with both errors

Start > Execute > regedit (do it with an administrator account) if you are not sure then:

Search the key:

PC\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers

Right click and add new key DWORD 32bits:

Finally verify with double click that the value is zero (0):

Just as easy as explained in this video, by now I’ve not experimented this or other errors after applying the fix.
